TCC finished seventh overall in the Large Colleges Category comprised of schools with 10,000 or more students. Colleges from 26 states across the United States participated in the survey that acknowledges community colleges that respond to increased enrollments and limited budgets through innovative use of technology.
TCC has recently added Financial Aid TV, a YouTube style website displaying short videos organized by topic and playlist, each designed to respond to general questions students might have about financial aid. TCC also offers a new online orientation, which provides a virtual experience for new students extending and enhancing traditional physical encounters through technology. TCC’s online orientation is a unique combination of user experiences designed to connect students with college resources targeted toward increasing student success.
TCC also uses a cloud-hosted software that centralizes the college’s student events and activities, connecting students to organizations, programs and departments at the college.
In addition, the college is using social networking more consistently to reach out to students.
